With the term "melamine" now becoming a household work based on the recent and expanding pet food recall, the dangerous chemical has entered the human food supply. In fact, reports state that people have eaten millions of chickens that were given feed tainted with the chemical. The threat to human health is "minimal" but it's still troubling from a quality control perspective. It's hard to trust an advanced food supply when something like this happens, yes?
As expected, the FDA said there was no cause for alarm because "the likelihood of illness after eating chicken fed the contaminated product is very low." While this is probably true, the fact is that melamine in the human meat-eating supply chain should be scrutinized much further.
