Professional football players prone to health problems

Know any pr football players? A new study suggests that health can elude professional football players after their pro athlete careers come to an end. Hmm -- sounds suspect, but let's move on.The reason for declining health of pro athletes is due to chronic pain from injuries sustained during a career. Add that to possible depression based on all those injuries and the transition to retirement ends up being hard -- very hard -- for many pro athletes.
This study used the example of football star safety Andre Waters, who committed suicide last November. He was suffering brain damage caused by concussions from his pro football career. Is it worth it for all those millions? For football players, perhaps not.
