The many vegetarian diets

If you've ever contemplated a vegetarian diet, the thought of no longer eating meat or poultry makes some cringe. Not only will that taste be gone, but an important source of protein goes away with it. There are many great plant-based sources of protein, but the switch can leave some in shock. But what about other reasons to go vegetarian? How about reducing your risk of heart disease? That is a common theme for most vegetarian proponents, but it's not the only one to choose when you decide to become a vegetarian.
A rather radical form of eating vegetarian promoted by Dr. Dean Ornish is a favorite in the vegetarian crowd, but it takes a tremendous strength of will to stay on track. There are more moderate vegetarian lifestyles as well which include healthy-fat items like nuts and avocados (in moderation), and these could be a great start to those who need to get away from bad fat items (meat selections).
