Garlic does or doesn't lower 'bad' cholesterol?

Posted on Apr 26th 2007 4:38PM by Brian White
Does garlic consumption really help human health? There are many people I know who eat garlic on just about anything. Not only do they like the taste, but it's a great way to make bland foods taste good without adding a ton of salt.

But, does garlic help health outside of the taste buds? New findings state that garlic does not lower LDL (bad cholesterol). I say that is now reason to stop eating garlic, though.

This newer trial was called "a bigger and better trial than has ever been done before", so there is bound to be some controversy with earlier studies that showed garlic having an effect on cholesterol levels.
