They may be banned on the Atkins diet, but make no mistake: Fruit is good for you. It's full of important vitamins and minerals that you might not be getting from other sources. You know that saying, 'An Apple a day keeps the doctor away'? I think there's some true merit to that.

My favourite thing about fruit is that it's relatively inexpensive and it's easy to take along with you for a quick snack. I almost always have an apple in my purse for quick energy fixes. Or, if not an apple, an orange, some grapes, a banana -- delicious!
