Water may not be so wonderful for marathon runners
It's a pretty standard thing to see marathon runners with water bottles in their hands, or picking up paper cups full of water as they run by crowds of people holding them out. But new information suggests drinking that much water during a marathon really doesn't help in the way of performance. When testing marathon runners' body temperatures and finishing times there was no measurable difference between those who drank more water during the race and those who drank less.So experts advise starting the event well-hydrated, and drinking water along the way if you feel thirsty. Just don't worry about forcing it because you feel you have to.
