Probiotics benefit your health

Posted on Apr 21st 2007 4:11PM by Sarah Anderson

Many of us are guilty for thinking a quick fix of antibiotics from the doctor's office will cure that which ails us, but sometimes it does quite the opposite. Antibiotics can throw off the natural balance of good bacteria in our bodies, causing many health problems that can become quite serious if not addressed; including, yeast infections, eczema, athletes foot and many stomach-related issues. The only problem is that as a society we tend to take antibiotics for ALL our health problems and in doing this we create a vicious circle of bad bacteria.

My suggestion is to replenish the good bacteria within our bodies before any negative effects have the chance to occur. How do you do that? Head down to the nearest health food store and get some probiotics or incorporate organic yogurt into your diet. This should reestablish the balance of bacteria and get rid of exess yeast that is the basic cause of all the above-listed health problems. Probiotics can be purchased in a more potent pill form or found in yogurt, as long as you're careful to read the label or talk to a health food representative to be sure the yogurt is actually organic.

What's your take on probiotics?
