Wheat gluten block stems from recent pet food recall

In the face of a widening pet food recall that turns over new stones every week, health officials from the U.S. have apparently suspended wheat gluten imports from an unidentified Chinese company after it was discovered that the pet food recall was traced back to contaminants from that company.

The FDA issues an order for inspectors to stop all wheat gluten imports from Xuzhou Anying Biologic Technology Development Company Ltd. in China after it was discovered that tainted wheat gluten was at the source of a major dog and cat food recall that has caused 16 documented deaths -- so far.
