Reducing carcinogens in meat while cooking

meatA plethora of studies have concluded that well done meats contain some amount of carcinogens. But you don't need to become a vegetarian to protect yourself against these cancer-causing compounds.

Did you know that cooking your meat with foods high in antioxidants will keep the cancer-causing compounds from forming? I didn't either, and Cathy Wong has some other easy and creative tips on how to eat meat in healthy ways. From marinating meats to avoiding meats with nitrates and nitrites, you can give in to your carnivorous ways without guilt when you use tips from her list.

This is good news to someone like me, who enjoys healthy meats in moderation, like grass-fed beef and free range poultry. So eat your meat and avoid carcinogens . . . at the same time.
