State-based online fitness programs hopefully will increase

After reading about this fitness program in Indiana, it just seems odd that there we see so much junk in out email inboxes but not enough moral support and motivational reminders to lose that excess weight and actually get in shape.

Sure, there are plenty of online dieting and exercise sites that let individuals track weight loss and exercise progress in an interactive way. Are these services using all available and customized ways (like personally-customized email reminders specific to each person) to ensure its "customers" are really seeing benefits from these programs?

It takes quite a bit to actually assist someone in motivating themselves to lose weight (and keep it off) and create an exercise routine that sticks well. If more states initiated a program like this Indiana one, perhaps we could keep this obesity epidemic from spiraling downward even further.
