Kids show dramatic mental improvement after taking Omega-3 supplements

Are all those nutritional supplements really helping mental development? If a new study is correct, then the answer is "yes" in a huge way. Researchers reported just over the last part of last week that the brains of children underwent three years of actual physical development when given dietary supplements for just three months.

The tests in the study involved kids from age 8 to 13 who were given two doses of fish oil supplements (Omega-3 oils with DHA and EPA, most likely). These kids were studies and results concluded that improvements in reading, concentration, memory and problem-solving skills all were verifiable results.

This is quite a study, and the scientists who participated in it were quite amazed by the results. One of the scientists said that "It was as if these were the brains of children three years older. It means you have more connections and greater density of nerve cells, in the same way that a tree grows more branches."
