So here's an idea that's good for your life and your health in more ways than one, but especially for your dieting efforts. It's based on the theory that overeating is a way people compensate for negative feelings like unhappiness, depression, disappointment, emptiness, etc. By focusing on the positives in your life, and what you have to be thankful for every day, you can achieve a sense of deep satisfaction, peacefulness, and joy. Then, with these positive emotions taking the lead, you'll be less likely to feel like overeating. So take some time to try The Gratitude Exercise, because even if it doesn't work miracles for you in the cravings department, it's still a good reminder to appreciate life's gifts.
