When original and workable programs come along that address the nutritional needs of kids, I instantly become a huge fan in most cases. Programs that encourage healthy eating and the banishment of soft drinks and junk foods are sometimes hard to find, but they are increasing as even parents find out that when you put garbage in a child, garbage sometimes comes out.The "Food Dudes" of Ireland pitch carrots and broccoli instead of sugary and unhealthy breakfast cereals. The appeal to kids, the Food Dudes are preteen actors playing superheroes in an educational video series.
In other words, these are not boring adults that kids can't relate to -- they are kids near the age of many millions in schools -- and they battle "General Junk". This, from what I can tell, is a very positive program from all respects. Talk about a role model for the U.S. We need it now more than ever.
