Lottery winners get...bariatric surgery
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment
Just when you've seen it all, something more ludicrous comes along the news. This time, a British lottery is promising winners that they can receive "tummy tucks" (code for bariatric surgery), facelifts and breast enhancements. What in the world is going on here? No wonder British surgeons have condemned this moronic practice. the real proof in the pudding, though, will be to see if many people in Britain buy lottery tickets -- specifically to have a shot at these "prizes".
But, hey -- it's a free country, right?

You might can say it's stupid, but for those of us that need the surgery and can't afford it, it's a chance at feeling human again. After severe weight loss those people need a second chance.

It isn't just British doctors that are giving away plastic surgery. There is a doctor in Charlotte, NC who held a lottery for a "quick recovery facelift" during the Southern Women's Show this year. He offers this type of free service to the elite often for charitable reasons.

Breast enhancements, face lifts and tummy tucks... basically a lottery geared more for women than men. So what do the men win? A fake blonde with fake lips, fake boobs, fake butt, and a fake image all together. Give me a break.

I see nothing wrong with this! There is a radio station here in Tampa Fl that gives away 12 plastic surgies to 12 different winners twice a year. I won 2 years ago and am 100% happy!
If People don't want the surgery they wont enter the contest. Plain and simple. So whats wrong with the people who do want it and by a $1.00 ticket and win and someone who plunks down more then $10,000.00 for the surgery?

I think we need that here in the states.... Look how much these cost people. If someone could win one that would be great. Plus there would be money left. just like the other lotterys that we have that could benifit the state they are played in

I am responding to this Post from Brian White, I have not follow-up and read more about the lottery story, yet.
Truth is, a lot of people wish they could afford cosmetic
surgery. I would have a tummy tuck if I had the funds. I also know that it would require a slow, sometimes painful recovery. I do not know if this offer comes from a TV show producer. I do not know that they have sought the best in surgeons and care. If it is a show, the winner will have a camera follow them through the process. The appeal to a network exec and viewers is that surgery comes with an amount of drama and danger. The patient may experience humiliation knowing their experience and bodies will be for show. To me, it's not the operation that is barbaric; it's the driving force behind the concept that is barbaric. I'm still saving.

DUH, As the story reads, it's a Code, a code being a word or number meaning something else. "Hello"
But, either way sounds, crazy and funny. The English, are so smart, lol.

Sincerely it's the people who are buying the tickets and winning's business. At least they are having a good shot at something they really desire. If you have ever bought a lottery ticket here in the US, you are after something you desire, such as $10,000, that you are hoping to win for a fraction of the value of your prize. The only thing to say here is good luck to those people who want them; I've seen some men who could use a tummy tuck and a facial or two so it's not just for women; and if you don't approve, don't buy.

All of my surgeries; hernia, hysterectomy (complete with complications; hemorraging after surgery), caeserean birth, laproscopies; have been performed on the stomach and lower abdomen. There exist alot of scar tissue and cannot be readily "fixed" with a regular abdomenal workout. I am currently seeking a plastic surgeon that may deem the operation necessary to prevent infection or growth in the "pockets". That may be the only way my current insurance will cover the "procedure". Under the UPMC Insurance Coverage, plastic surgery is NOT covered. Please consider me. Send info to posted email address.
