Weight loss motivator Julia Griggs Havey has some advice for those of you looking to lose the pounds: bust those vices you may have. She believes in this so steadfastly that she has even written a book about it and formulated a weight-loss plan around it. The premise? If you break the addiction to your vices, losing weight should be easy. For her, vices aren't any specific thing -- they're anything that keeps you from living the healthiest life you can, whether it be ice cream, chocolate, pizza or an overwhelming love of your sofa. Based on this, what do you think your vices are? For me, it's cheese, chocolate and perhaps wine. Actually, I could list a bunch of things that I just can't resist but that's neither here nor there.
Anyway, these vices, despite our best intentions, consistently sabotage our progress and keep us fat and unhappy. Havey knows what she's talking about -- she lost 130 lbs and has kept it off for 10 years!
I haven't read Havey's book but here's a review of it. Have you read it? What did you think?
