Los Angeles doctor starts war against childhood obesity

In what would be great for most medical doctors to be involved with, a Los Angeles pediatrician has positioned herself on the front lines of the childhood obesity epidemic.

That stance has installed her office with diabetes patients and put kids at risk of adult health problems. In an age where doctor's offices and hospitals financially (and otherwise) revolve around millions of ailments due to poor nutrition, it's amazing to see a pediatrician take a stance like this.

In a move a highly admire, the pediatrician -- Dr. Francine Kaufman -- said "It was like a wave that started to build slowly and then it swelled. We started to fundamentally change what we were doing everyday in our practices."
