Daily Fit Tip: Switch to fresh herbs

If you ask me, there's nothing like fresh herbs to liven up a dish and bring the flavour of the food out. My favourites are fresh dill, rosemary, garlic and basil, and while the dehydrated versions are okay, there's just something missing.

If you're like me and try not to cook without plenty of fresh herbs, you're on the right track to healthier eating. Not only are fresh herbs good for you, they're a low fat, low calorie way of livening up your favourite foods. Forget butter and other artery-clogging additions -- a little sprig of something from the garden is all you need in most cases. Plus, fresh herbs have nutrients that are stripped from the herb in the dehydration process.
