Fit Links: Healthy holiday cooking
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss
As fabulous as we at That's Fit think this blog is, the truth is there are hundreds of wonderful blogs on healthy living to be seen all over the blogosphere. So in this feature, Fit Links, we'll introduce you to some that have caught our eye.'Tis the season of holiday baking and entertaining. No one wants to bring dry, tasteless cookies to the party just because you're trying to be healthy. So, this year, we find ourselves on a mission to find recipes that taste great but are guilt-free for our health conscious.
Healthy Recipe Doctor from Web MD Blog offers healthy recipes year-round, but comes in especially handy this time of year. I recommend using the search box to search by ingredient for healthy recipe suggestions.
About.com:Walking is a blog mainly focused on the health benefits of walking, but they've also got a great list of healthy holiday recipes for entertaining including appetizers, desserts, and side dishes. And if a little bit of inspiration to get walking after you're done baking happens to wear off on you as you surf their site, that's just a bonus!
Vegetarian, or expecting vegetarian guests? The Veggie Table Blog offers vegetarian and vegan versions of holiday favorites. Even if you're not expecting any vegetarians at your holiday dinner, the site is worth a look for interesting, healthy variations on traditional holiday recipes.
Nothing gets me in the mood to cook more than finding some interesting new recipes to try out. Happy cooking!
