Higher global temperatures are bringing more disease

Global warming is leading to an increase in diseases, according to the World Health Organization. Global warming has been in the news for years now, and even though the earth's temperature has only increased about one degree in the past 100 years, it's making a significant impact on the spread of diseases like malaria and dengue fever.

Why does such a small temperature jump make such a big difference in the spread of disease? One reason is that slight temperature increases can lead to huge population jumps for disease-spreading insects like mosquitos. This news is prompting governments to take regulating greenhouse gas emissions more seriously than ever.
