Can too much testosterone make you dumb?

Well, not really, but a new finding reveals that it can kill brain cells. This helps identify why some athletes are prone to "roid rage" when the substance is abused. What is really interesting is that when the body has too much testosterone, cells tend to "self-destruct" much in the same way that Alzheimer's patient cell's do.

The researchers explain that this may be the reason why so many gym aficionados on steroids tend to have wide mood swings and anger bouts. Long-term damage is being done to the brain cells due to excess in testosterone. They also tried the same thing with estrogen, but the results were quite different. Apparently estrogen is almost protective and there was less cell death.

A minor nitpick... Testosterone doesn't make people dumb. Dumb = mute. It makes them stupid. :)

As if a person who injects himself with strange didn't already seem idiotic enough, we get evidence of the fact their more foolish than the rest of us. But will showing this article to a "juicer" prevent him from beating the ever locing crap out of you when you call him on his stupidity? Only time will tell.

If we consider that testosterone builds muscle, and we consider muscled men attractive, we can infer some things: Why are men stupid? Because women are attracted to stupid men. Darwin takes over, and the human race continues to decrease in it's average IQ.

I speak from experiencing the effects on my ex husband. He became a maineac and dumber than dirt! Extremely abbusive, handsome, great body but out to lunch. Twenty years of a marriage down the porcelean convenience!

Mastermess apparantly suffers from too much "testoserone" himself. In his articles he states that too much testoserone causes "roid rage" obviously should have been "road rage".

Too much testosterone may kill a few brain cells, likely no more than the amount of alcohol consumed by the average American, but the hazards of having too much estrogen in a man are even worse than a few dead brain cells. After all, back in high school I had a couple friends who were always in and out of rehab, and yet made straight A's. If a man has too much testosterone, he'll be bigger, stronger, and meaner than most people. Usually a plus. Especially when one considers the alternative. That being a whiney metrosexual eunich who cries himself to sleep after watching a romantic comedy.
